Tips that smart people use to deal with problematic people

By Raúl Gorrín.- Unfortunately around us as well as very good and dear people, there are a few who are frankly problematic people. Some unconsciously, but others seem to flaunt their negativity. They are difficult people who only generate chaos in their wake; it is stressful people who cause conflicts and inconveniences in their environment. How to handle these types of people? Well, let's see what smart people do to deal with these people and avoid being affected by their behavior.

1. Set limits. Nothing can cause more anguish than a person who comes every day to count his innumerable troubles, always whining and highly negative. They never see a possibility of solution to the problems, for them everything is a tragedy. The point is to set limits on these people. Don’t let them stay around telling you again and again their sorrows. Be assertive, ask them what they intend to do to solve their problems. This will disarm them, silence them, and direct the conversation in a positive direction.

2. Don’t echo your emotional chaos. These people are irrational, so don’t respond emotionally. Get out of the field of action of these people. Simply distance yourself from the emotional point of view and treat them as an object of science, just as if it were your psychiatrist.

3. Stay aware of your emotions. Such an attitude requires knowledge and it is that before the derailment that show the negative and unstable people, many times the best answer is to smile and to follow its way.

5. Don’t get caught up in fights with them. Toxicity is the territory of them, not yours. Stay away.

6. For you, the important things are the solutions, not the problems. Focus on actions that will improve you and your circumstances. Think about how you deal with it and not how disturbing the person is. What is effective is how to get rid of the individual.

7. People with emotional intelligence forgive quickly but don’t forget. Let it go, but don’t give it a chance to repeat the situation.

8. Don’t interfere in negative conversations. Yours is the positive. Of course there are times when you may feel bad, but your inner dialogue shouldn’t point in that direction. Avoid those conversations.
9. Sleep well. Sleep is refreshing, revitalizes and increases your emotional intelligence. By resting properly you will be better equipped and prepared to deal with negative people without being affected by them.
