By Raúl Gorrín.- As we have already mentioned in previous
deliveries, procrastination is the postponement or posture of the tasks or
issues that have pending to execute. It is the habit of delaying activities
that have and should be in place and replaced by other irrelevant work. Plus, it
is always difficult to take the first step and that is the great challenge that
all entrepreneurs have, to overcome the initial resignation, and the obstacle
that prevents the first advance in an entrepreneurship project.
Right now,
we are going to show you five ways to combat it:
1. Dedicate yourself to a single subject. It has been
determined that one of the causes of procrastination is to be in the presence
of large tasks that are overwhelming. Concentrate on a single issue and move
forward, divide the larger projects and other smaller and more manageable goals
to help move forward without paying attention to the size of the project.
2. Set deadlines, it can’t be all the time in the
world to do a task. Watch for deadlines, either because you impose yourself or
because the clients demands quick responses. This avoids distractions.
3. Don’t seek perfection but concretion, that‘s why it
is better to speak of "finished" than "perfect". Seeking
perfection can mean the end of many brilliant ideas about business and products
and / or services. It is better to focus on your efforts to give your best in
the place of wanting to seek perfection.
4. Clear your mind, a good walk without thinking will
serve to relax. It has been determined that performing an exercise helps. Thinking
stubbornly about an idea can only increase your level of anxiety. Rest will
allow you to break the vicious circle of procrastination and get closer to your
goals.
5. Work, don’t wait for inspiration. The creation is
one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. Let's do it.
