What is a strategic alliance? How can we form them?



    


By Raúl Gorrín.-  A strategic alliance is a cooperation form of mergers characteristic, business acquisitions and organic growth. At the moment of establishing a strategic alliance, it is necessary to be absolutely clear amid the parts to not generate confusion or misunderstandings. The strategy needs to be reconsidered, as the parts agree that they are taking on the most appropriate strategy for all. It should be defined what role every organization will play in the alliance that will be formed. 

     The strategic alliance can’t be removed from the organizational culture or the structure. It should be a process which all factors, all variables, all pros and cons are weighed in order to make the most balanced decision. However, the construction of the alliance involves an exhaustive analysis of the activities being carried out in order to determine which of these activities are carried out efficiently and, don’t count them. Also, make a proper labor division and establish the activities that are in a charge of every part.

     In addition, regarding the structure of the alliance that determines the outline which the partners’ activities of the strategic alliance are developed. The structure will determine the strategic and operational objectives. Strategic strategy agreement is the last of the steps and the guidelines are clear in the contract letter. Such a contract should contemplate the mechanisms through distribution of the income will take place.
