Laughter helps us to generate positive emotions

By Raúl Gorrín.- They say that when we laugh, a number of muscles are mobilized in our face and body. It is true that laughter is active, creative, open, and contagious, generates positive emotions, is universal. It belongs to all humanity, promotes the union and strengthening of human relations. When we are in a good mood, we are more creative and proactive. That helps improve business productivity here that some consultants, psychologists and other experts such as in social economics say can be considered as a variable of success and union among employees, managers and entrepreneurs in general.

Experts say that as children we laugh up to 400 times a day, but little by little society is eliminating that natural ability to laugh and makes us serious. Nowadays exist more and more transcendent and sad people. When we reach the age adulthood, the ability to laugh we lose it for many reasons. And so little by little we are losing the cheerful face, to become serious and rigid people. At that moment we stop practicing the best of our gestures, perhaps the only one that differentiates humans from other beings is laughter. Not only do we lose what is defined as an emotional expression of joy and happiness, but also deprive ourselves of one of the greatest sources of physical and psychological health.

Laughter is a sign of trust in a partner or friend and a ritual that disarms any sign of aggression or threat. It is one of the most common and frequent behaviors between two people who know each other and are comfortable in a meeting. Specialists add that when we laugh at two people together, we develop friendly ties, capable of eliminating barriers and communication distances that may exist between strangers. Laughter increases the group's empathy, reduces the distance between two or more people when we laugh with others the barriers of inhibition and shame disappear and facilitate and promote understanding, encounter, contact, caresses and hugs.

To sum up, students conclude that when we laugh we develop emotional bonds that cause us to have the feeling of closeness, empathy, allow us to relate from positive thinking, optimism and good feelings, from complicity, from simplicity, from the authenticity positive emotions and even from the heart.
