By Raúl Gorrín.- We have talked on several occasions of
telecommuting and flexible working hours as an important work incentive to
increase the productivity of employees in different organizations. Also, we
want to talk about its disadvantages and the aspects that for some people are
negative in these working modalities.
The flexible
working is very appreciated by workers, according some studies. Some people see
with sympathy working from home released from a strict schedule and for other
group of workers, teleworking and flexible working it is demotivating. For companies,
the lack of governing legislation is an inconvenience to decide to impose the
modality in their organizations.
However,
according to the type of responsibilities or the company’s responsibilities,
teleworking and flexible working can be problematic. For them, the physical
presence of their workers is still essential. But this is not the only thing,
the need for feedback; contact with other colleagues is also a necessity for a
few who, for these reasons, refuse to teleworking. Apparently, the tools that
technology makes available (chats and teleconferencing mechanisms), seems to
have a lot of weight for some workers.
It is problem
because people have to choose on their need for contact and the possibility of
a flexible schedule. In any case, for small and micro enterprises are good for
the savings they represent in their costs.
For employees,
this work system (saving time and money for travel), it is an attractive idea.
In addition, it is an excellent opportunity for them to reconcile professional
with family life. In contrast, telecommuniting and flexible working is a great
opportunity for pregnant women and lactating mothers.
It will be
necessary to continue observing the development of these events, but everything
continues pointing that, it will continue grow and with many more supporters.
